Sacred Heart Cathedral
Located on Yide Rd in the center of Guangzhou, Sacred Heart Cathedral (Shengxing Dajiaotang) is an impressive catholic cathedral. It's built in 1863 and completed in 1888, this huge granite building was a French style. |

Baiyun Mountain.
Baiyun Mountain (Baiyun shan) will give you a pleasant half-day trip away from the traffic and congestion of Guangzhou. The Mountain (known locally as White Clouds Mountain) is approximately 15 km north away from the city and a part of the Kunshan Mountain range. |

The bus journey to Baiyun Mountain takes approximately one hour from the center of town. |

Guangxiao Temple
Located in the west of the Temple of Six Banyan Trees, the Guangxiao Temple (Temple of Bright and Filial Piety) (Guangxiao si) is Guangzhou's oldest site. |

The Temple of Six Banyan Trees
The Temple of Six Banyan Trees (Liu rong si) is a pretty and well-maintained temple located in the heart of Guangzhou. The Temple originally had a different name but was renamed 'six banyan trees' temple by the famous litterateur "Su Dongpo" who visited the spot in AD 1100. |

Liuhua Lake Park
Liuhua Lake Park (Liuhuahu gongyuan) consists of a huge artificial lake dotted with a few islands and walkways and located in the north of the city. On weekends it is always crowded with families and couples around the lake. |

Yuexiu Park
Yuexiu Park (Liuhua Gongyuan) is the largest urban parkland in the whole of China. Therefore, this can be a lovely place to take a walk. The park was first built in 1952 and consists of numerous lakes, pagodas and pavilions and three major impressive sites. The picture above is Sculpture of Five Rams. The five rams are the symbol of Guangzhou. The Park also has numerous amusements and recreational facilities including restaurants, teahouses, a stadium and a roller coaster. |
